What's New for the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire? The 2004 Pontiac Sunfire is virtually a carryover from last year. An MP3 player is optional, two new interior hues are available and eye-searing exterior colors debut: Rally Yellow and Fusion Orange Metallic.
Advantages of the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire:
- Big cash back and low APR financing
Objections to the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire: - Design and engineering date to the mid 1990s
- Unrefined mechanicals
- Rental car quality cabin materials
- Uncomfortable seats
- Vague steering
- Busy suspension tuning
Editor's Advice: We could have gone on and on with objections to the 2004 Pontiac Sunfire. Now in its tenth year of production without significant updates, all of the Sunfire's competition leaves it choking in the dust – even the Saturn Ion Quad Coupe. We wouldn’t take issue with its beer-goggles-but-still-ugly looks if it weren’t for its obsolete mechanicals, poor crash safety records, sketchy reliability record and dire plummet in value on the used car market. We do not recommend this vehicle, or its cousin, the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier.
