What's New for the 2005 Acura RSX?
Significant late-cycle changes keep the 2005 Acura RSX competitive. All models benefit from improved ride-and-handling tweaks, while steps have been taken to reduce interior noise. The sporty Type-S model receives a horsepower boost from 200 to 210, revised gearing for quicker acceleration, bigger front brakes, a thicker front stabilizer bar, new 215/45R17 performance tires, improved brake pedal feel and a revised exhaust note. Base models have quicker steering. All 2005 Acura RSX models receive exterior styling updates such as new front and rear fascias, new headlights and tail lamps, new alloy wheel designs, a lowered suspension, and new color choices. Exclusive shades for the Type-S include Jade Green Metallic and Blaze Orange. Inside, firmer seats offer improved support, white-faced gauges add a sporty appearance, and titanium-colored trim is added. Base models receive new seat fabric, and a classy chrome ring surrounds the gearshift on models with a manual transmission.

Advantages of the 2005 Acura RSX:

  • Complete load of standard equipment
  • Impressive balance between fuel economy and performance
  • Functional hatchback design with large cargo area

Objections to the 2005 Acura RSX:

  • Lacks driver legroom for taller people
  • Some inexpensive interior bits and pieces
  • No audio controls on steering wheel

Editor's Advice:
Any 2005 Acura RSX offers plenty of power and handling to spare, and all are fun to drive. We like the 210-horsepower Type-S model, but most prefer the spunky and more affordable 160-horsepower standard version. More than fun, the 2005 Acura RSX is also frugal and functional. Looking for something more refined than the current crop of multi-spoilered sport compacts? The 2005 Acura RSX deserves a test drive.
